Graeme ScottFounder & CEO
With two decades at the forefront of innovation, Graeme founded Synoptic to drive innovation in healthcare in response to the adverse effects of the COVIDS-19 pandemic. Graeme worked as a think tank for Steve Jobs at Apple in the late ’90s, as well as numerous other clients including BMW and Mini, WB, Universal, Home Depot and Microsoft before developing CarbonWise, an energy-saving software. Once CarbonWise had become a market-leader Graeme sold it and has consistently consulted in technology and risk space, all of which led to the development of Synoptic Software.
Glen HuxleyCTO
Glen is responsible for the development of the suite of Synoptic healthcare sector products. Glen has over a decade of experience in delivering technological solutions to meet client and business needs. With his knowledge and skills he has created the Synoptic Platform using the latest technologies to create the best possible product. Previously Glen worked at Intuitive, a travel technology company, where he was responsible for building their web booking platform and delivering highly performant and responsive web applications for both the B2B and B2C travel markets. Glen also holds a BSc in Computer Science.
Matt DarwinCIO
Matt is guiding Synoptic’s AI strategy, to further automate and improve Synoptic’s product offerings. He has an Msc in physics, and 17 years experience in the tech industry. Matt joins Synoptic from Oracle, where he led a team of developers building a cloud-native machine learning platform to embed AI into Oracle’s applications. Prior to that, he led software engineering teams in the global telecoms industry. Matt has lived in seven countries, speaks five languages and has been known to wield a polo mallet.
Alexandra D’Arcy ClarkChief of Staff
Alexandra is responsible for leading Synoptic’s work in the health sector, education and Government. Prior to joining Synoptic Alexandra worked in the travel industry. She specialised in Southern and East Africa and after 7 years in sales, she then moved on to a role in business development which was focussed predominantly in the US. From a development aspect, Alexandra was also constantly proposing new methodologies that allowed the business to adapt in order to attract new potential clients. Alexandra has a BA Hons in History and ran the Marathon des Sables in 2018.
Richard Bonnett Senior Back-End Developer
Richard develops and expands the core technical product infrastructure for Synoptic. Richard is a highly experienced Front Office Software Engineer and before he began his career in software he worked in an investment bank meaning he brings a real breadth of knowledge to the role he now holds.
Andy Furniss Senior Web Developer
Andy graduated from the University of Kent in 2012 with a First Class degree in Multimedia Technology and Design. Since joining Synoptic, he has primarily been responsible for the development and innovation of the back-end side of Synoptic’s technology platform. He is passionate about writing clean, efficient, and reusable code and applies this philosophy to all of Synoptic’s systems.

Clinical Team

Dr Andrew CoppolaClinical Innovation Advisor
Andrew is the clinical innovation lead at Synoptic and unifies clinical knowledge with technological advancement. He holds an MBBS in medicine, BSc in Experimental Pathology and is working towards a Master’s in surgical innovation at Imperial. Having graduated in Medicine at Barts and the London School of Medicine, he has worked as a Foundation Doctor in Intensive Care at the forefront of the COVID19 pandemic. During this time, he has clinically managed and worked at the bedside of the patients most critically unwell with COVID19. He has also led research efforts in describing the demographics and outcomes of these patients in the intensive care, presenting the data to the health care trust. Dr Coppola sees a digitised future within healthcare systems and values the benefit of data aggregation and unification in clinical settings.
Professor Sebastian JohnstonCOVID-19 Clinical Advisor
Sebastian Johnston is Professor of Respiratory Medicine & Allergy at the National Heart & Lung Institute, Imperial College London, and Honorary Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine & Allergy at St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust, London, as well as Chairman of the Board, Chief Medical Officer and Co-founder of Virtus Respiratory Research. He is Director of the MRC & Asthma UK Centre in Allergic Mechanisms of Asthma, is the Clinical Academic Training Lead for Respiratory Medicine at Imperial College & Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust and is the Asthma UK Clinical Chair. He has been performing respiratory virus-related research including human virus challenge studies in asthma for more than 30 years and is the only investigator worldwide to have performed such studies in people with COPD. He has a long and productive history of collaborations with both the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, his work has led to more than 450 research publications with over 43,000 citations.
